Blue Envelope Program

The Bloomingdale Police Department is proud to announce that it has adopted The Blue Envelope Program. The goal of this program is to assist people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during a motor vehicle stop. When a person with ASD gets pulled over they have the ability to provide our officers with the blue envelope. The blue envelope will contain information about the driver to help officers react and handle the situation appropriately. Information describing the person as non-verbal or that they have sensitivity to lights and loud noises can be vital to reduce the occurrence of misunderstandings between law enforcement and a person with ASD.

If you would like to sign up for The Blue Envelope Program, please respond to Bloomingdale Police Headquarters to retrieve the blue envelope forms.
